•°Chapter 14: *The Argument*°• (This is where the writing style changes)
-{THIS CHAPTER INCLUDES: Panic attacks/Angst(?)/Slight violence}-
He wiped his eyes almost immediately as he heard the nearly inaudible whispers coming from no other then Freddy and Monty. Gregory sat up and tried to stop his shaky hands, which were mindlessly fidgeting with the blanket wrapped around each one of his fingers. He didn't know why he was like this, so obnoxious and stubborn. He use to write apology letters to make up for the damage he would cause others, but stopped when it wasn't enough. Why was he like this, has he ignored all the warnings and previous mistakes he had in the past?! He didn't need the answer to that question. Gregory knew that they would be mad like always, but they would forgive him eventually. They always do. They always forgave and forgot all of his mishaps and the burden that followed with it. He is a burden to all of them yet he still taunts them with the cards he was dealt with, it was his excuse. His excuse for being the way he was, nothing but a burden. Someone who latched and manipulated others to get the things he wanted, the things he desired and dreamed of back then when he didn't have a home. His actions left a bitter taste in his mouth.
"..Monty, i'm worried about him" Gregory felt a wave of guilt run through his entire body as he heard the brittle tone in Freddy's voice. Gregory clamped his mouth shut with both of his hands, he needed to stop panicking. He couldn't let anyone of them see him like this, not right now. He didn't deserve to feel their attention on him with their sickening reassuring words as they comforted him. He caused them so much stress and pain already, so why did he want them right here by his side? He was so selfish, so ungrateful for the things he had.
"Hey.. I'm sure the kid will be fine, he always is. I just- I just think-" Monty stumbled over his words as he contemplated on how to word this nicely, "Oh never mind, forget about it."
"What?" the corners of Freddy's mouth lowered as he surveyed the panic in Monty's expression, which slowly grew more and more.
"Look you and I both know we can't keep him in this- this mall! It's not safe or healthy Fred he needs new-" Monty was immediately cut off by the wrenching clash that left him a bit stunned.
"And what, let him run off with his parents- Oh wait they left him, didn't they!? So please tell me, tell me what on earth could possibly be better. I try my fucking best because I know I'm the ONLY guardian the poor child will ever have! I may not be perfect but I'm trying Montgomery"
"..Sometimes your all isn't enough, please- at least consider it. He needs a actual childhood Freddy, somewhere he can make new friends and go outside-"
"Leave"
"..What?" Monty was in disbelief, he never saw Freddy act this way.
"I SAID GO!" the harsh raucous sound made Gregory's blood run cold, "You're not welcome here" Gregory began to struggle on what they were saying after that, he felt horribly dizzy. However he heard the door slam shut and the excruciating silence that followed with it.
"Gregory... are you awake? I'm sorry if I awoken you with.. that" Freddy nearly spat out the last word in disgust. Gregory nearly shot out of his bed in horror, here he was balling his eyes out when Freddy's footsteps grew closer and closer towards him. He hid under his covers as quick as he possibly could without making a sound before wincing at the waves of pain that engulfed his left arm.
*"shit, forgot about that.."* the adrenaline must have wore off as he lied down as still as a statute. Well- it was more like a possum playing dead, only he hated the fact that Freddy was the predator in this case, a predator looming over his prey. He winced as he felt Freddy's presence behind him, he didn't like how he felt threatened. Was he really afraid of his own dad?
"Gregory I'm so sorry.." he felt Freddy's paw rubbing his back in a soothing pattern, "But I can't keep doing this if you don't help me out.. don't you realize how much harder it is to keep you out of trouble while trying to make sure- PROVE that I can take care of you?! How much energy do you think it takes just to make sure you have someone to watch over you at ALL TIMES, if you were more responsible we wouldn't have that problem! I just hope you'll be okay-" Freddy paused for a moment before stepping away.
"..Sleep well Gregory"
"Did he leave?" sure enough, it was silent.
And Gregory didn't know whether to be relieved or upset about that.
